DJI just introduced the new Mini 3, a slimmed-down version of the
;) DJI Mini 3 What makes the DJI Mini 3 different from the DJI Mini 3 Pro?Of course, the interesting question is what all features have been dropped in order to offer the Mini 3 250 euros cheaper than the Mini 3 Pro. The Mini 3 looks very similar to the Mini 3 Pro - but if you take a closer look, you can see that - as already seen on the leaked images www.slashcam.de/news/single/DJI-Mini-3--Neue-Einsteiger-Drohne-im-Anflug-17606.html - instead of the dual obstacle sensors integrated into the Pro version, the new Mini 3 has ventilation slots at the front and back - only the ones at the bottom have remained. ;) DJI Mini 3 So the APAS automatic obstacle detection and avoidance system is severely limited in function - which is a bit impractical for a beginner drone, making it even more necessary to purchase a DJI Care Refresh repair and replacement service contract. In addition, the Mini 3 only has the old O2 (Ocusyn) video transmission system of the  Mini 2 with a somewhat low range instead of the O3 system of the Mini 3 Plus. ;) DJI Mini 3 folded compact. So, 4K (HDR) at 24, 25 and 30p is available for video recording, as well as 2.7K and 1080p at 24, 25, 30, 48, 50 and 60p in H.264. Caution on smart flight and recording modes.Cutbacks have also been made in the intelligent flight and recording modes - for example, the Mini 3 commands Quickshot mode (without Asteroid mode), but not Active Track (i.e. object detection and tracking) and MasterShots function and time-lapse recording modes. However, since the Mini3 Pro&s front and rear obstacle sensors are missing, you shouldn&t blindly rely on the various Quickshot modes to avoid collisions. ;) DJI Mini 3 Ready for C0 certification.With a weight below 250g, the new DJI Mini 3 also technically meets an important requirement for a future C0 certification with which the DJI Mini 3 could be flown license-free. Prices and availabilityThe Mini 3 is scheduled to launch in early 2023, but is available for pre-order now - DJI is offering it without a controller for 489 euros, with the simple DJI RC-N1 remote controller (without a display, for working with a smartphone) for 579 euros, and with the DJI RC remote controller with a bright 5.5" display for 749 euros. In addition, as usual, there is also a Mini 3 Fly More Combo, which consists of the drone, DJI RC-N1 Remote Controller, Shoulder Bag, Two-Way Charging Hub, two extra Intelligent Flight Batteries and for 768 euros and 938 euros (with the DJI RC Remote Controller stat the RC-NC1).
