It seems Blackmagic Design is staying true to its rapid update policy. Just two weeks after the introduction of the beta version 21 of DaVinci Resolve, the first update is already available. It contains numerous improvements and bug fixes, such as more consistent actions for cropping, mirroring, and rotating still images, as well as improved processing of crop resolution metadata. Additionally, still images can now be exported using their original filenames. Decoding support for RAF and 12-bit NEF images has been improved, and the default ease profiles for retime curves have been optimized. DaVinci Resolve Studio Beta 2 also offers speed and quality improvements for IntelliSearch analysis as well as foveated rendering controls for Apple Vision Pro workflows.
 Blackmagic Resolve and Fusion 21 - new features and improvements The software update for Fusion 21 also includes improvements and bug fixes, including optimized color rendering for fonts and emojis, improved default node positioning, and enhancements to the macro editor and OGL. Furthermore, 3D rendering and supersampling for Cryptomatte have been optimized. Version 21 introduced numerous new features: Photo Page- New photo editing now fully integrated into DaVinci Resolve. - Image library with tags, favorites, ratings, and album collections. - Albums allow you to create, manage, and adjust photos at source resolution. - Native RAW support for major camera formats. - Import media from Apple Photos on macOS. - Import Lightroom catalog files into the media pool. - Use Resolve multi-user collaboration and Blackmagic Cloud synchronization. - Support for the DaVinci color control toolset and grading panels. - Looks, LUTs, ResolveFX, and OpenFX for your images. - GPU-accelerated batch exports and conversions. - Reframing and cropping of images at full original resolution and original aspect ratio. - LightBox view provides an overview of entire albums, including applied grades. - Direct image capture via connected Sony or Canon cameras. Cut and Edit Page- Keyframing offers powerful retime controls with 4-point Bézier. - Add keyframes and curves for multiple selected clips. - Keyframing ease options: loop, ping-pong, reverse, and stretch. - Keyframe Fusion effects, generators, and text along with edit effects. - Subframe support for keyframing and markers. - Native support for OGL HTML graphics. - Native support for Lottie animations. - Resolve FX Picture-in-Picture effect. - Font browser window for text and subtitle elements. - Preview fonts during font selection as a preset. - Spell check for all text elements. - Emoji and color fonts for Text+ and MultiText. - Multicam angle previews in Clean Feed and video outputs. - Multicams can contain all audio tracks for each angle. - Multicams can use full clip extent during creation and synchronization. - Replay control to limit view to the last 5 minutes of recorded media. - Replay editor allows timeline selection via the search dial. - Replay now allows independent start and end stingers. - Replay title palette allows up to 6 favorite titles. - Mono audio is now played back on the left and right channels of stereo tracks. - Improved waveforms, markers, and transitions for short edit tracks. - Source timelines support automatic track selection. - DRT timeline import supports linking and conform options. - Compare timelines with timeline backup snapshots. - Subtitle inspector now supports find and replace. - On the Edit Page, you can show or hide tracks in the index. - Support for editing EDL clip names in the Edit Index. - Support for Affinity .af files with group and individual layer control. - Timecode options on the Edit Page for frames, subframes, or audio samples. - Duration timecode option to display duration during clip selection. - Improved timeline view options with presets and clip name option. - Display remote color versions in the source viewer. - Local color grade versions use remote grades when creating new clips. - Timeline menu action to select transitions on the Cut and Edit Page. - Paste and remove attributes for clip color, markers, and flags. - Paste and remove attributes to maintain image position when cropping. - Toggle audio channels for multiple clip selections via the context menu. - Edit Page Source Tape includes multicam clips. - Match Frame finds source media for nested clips and multicams. - Resolve FX Video Collage with separate controls for tile fill and border. - Subtitle support for fade in and fade out. - IntelliScript with Final Draft/plain text script import. Color Page- Clip groups now support grade versions. - Node graphs can now be displayed as a layer list. - Node stacks now support up to 8 layers. - Customizable HDR and Nit scope ranges. - Improvements to ACES AMF with transform names and custom folders. - Support for Adobe RGB color space and gamma. - OpenFX 1.5 color management APIs for color-space-aware effects. - Advanced panel controls for 2.39 and 2.4 safe area aspect ratios. - Multi-user projects can bypass color management on the Color Page. - Original shape is maintained when pasting tracking data between Power Windows. - MultiMaster trim passes for grading a single timeline for numerous deliverables. Fairlight Page- Folder tracks allow expanding or collapsing a group of tracks. - Support for "Jump to mouse pointer" with the C key.
