In Las Vegas, alongside the upcoming ![]() Bosma Vega H2 "Cine" is not in Bosma&s corporate DNA; the company has been manufacturing optical systems such as rifle scopes and similar products for over 20 years, and has recently been selling surveillance cameras and "smart" home devices. Their first camera for film, or rather broadcast, was the G1 8K camera with an MFT mount, released in 2021, which, to our knowledge, did not achieve resounding success. ![]() The upcoming Bosma Vega H2 is equipped with a 6K full-frame CMOS sensor, which the manufacturer claims delivers a dynamic range of 14 stops. It is unknown which sensor is being used; Dual Native ISO is implemented (800 and 5000). Recording is possible in 6K Open Gate at up to 29.97p, while 59.94p is possible in 6K 2.39:1. Recording in ProRes or H.264 / H.265 is done to SD cards, and an SSD can be connected via USB-C. REC.709, Log, and HLG are supported. The maximum data rate is said to be 600 Mbps, with a maximum color sampling of 12-bit. The most significant feature is the aforementioned "HVS" functionality, or Horizontal & Vertical Switching—if you want to film in portrait mode, you don&t rotate the camera, but rather the lens and sensor by 90°. The display can also be tilted accordingly for previewing. ![]() For focusing, Bosma relies on a hybrid ToF (Time of Flight) AF system (similar to the LiDAR on the DJI Ronin 4D camera), with the sensor located in the top handle. This was shown in conjunction with external motors, similar to follow-focus systems; whether the camera offers seamless focus with AF lenses is currently unclear. ![]() ND filters can be inserted into the PL mount. Many external controls and professional connections are present, such as 12G-SDI, 3G-SDI, HDMI, XLR, Timecode/Genlock, and others. Power is supplied by a BP-U battery, and a V-mount adapter will also be available. More information on the camera can be found at The Bosma Vega H2 is expected to be market-ready by the summer, and one can expect a price of around 5,000 dollars. deutsche Version dieser Seite: Bosma Vega H2 - 6K-Kamera mit um 90° drehbarem Sensor und ToF-Fokus |
