The latest version of the editing and VFX software HitFilm Pro now natively supports some After Effects plug-ins -- several will follow. For now you can use Trapcode Particular from Red Giant and five plugins from Video Copilot: Element 3D, Optical Flares, Saber, Orb, Heat Distortion.
In addition, the workflow has been optimized in several places, for example an export panel has been introduced to make it easier to play back the projects. There are also a few new abbreviations for the masks, the assignment of effects or the creation of comp shots (for more details, see
blog post). More possibilities are available for text design and formatting.
A new effect is "Chromatic Aberration", i.e. red-green-blue color fringes. Those who work with 3D models can now cover them with a moving video layer as texture.
HitFilm Pro 14 is now available and costs 349 Euro including support and update possibilities for 12 months, so it seems that it has become more expensive, because version 13 was still offered for 299 Euro.
