The consistently reliable leaker Igor Bogdanov (x.com/Quadro_News) has already posted images and specifications of the Luna Ultra model online. According to the leak, the main camera will feature a 20mm f/1.8 lens (35mm equivalent), accompanied by a 120mm telephoto module. An 8K CMOS sensor of the 1-inch type with 50MP is listed as the image converter; naturally, one sensor is required for each module. Often, image sensors in telephoto cameras are smaller—whether this is the case with the Luna Ultra is not clear from the leaked data. The zoom levels are specified as 1x, 2x, 3x, 6x, or 12x.
While the Luna Ultra is very similar to the already established DJI Osmo Pocket, it does offer a unique feature: the rotatable OLED touch display, along with a small mount containing buttons and a zoom rocker, can be detached and used separately as a remote control with a live image preview. A "Triple AI Chip" is intended to, among other things, minimize image noise in low light and increase brightness and detail in shadow areas.
Video can be recorded in H.265 (HEVC) with bitrates of up to 120 Mbps, and photo resolution reaches up to 37 MP in RAW format. The Luna Ultra supports 10-bit I-Log, Dolby Vision, and Gamma Log. Additionally, 4K Live Frames, Natural Portraits, and 1080p@60fps modes are listed; the latter is somewhat puzzling, as the Luna is expected to be capable of recording 8K at 30p and 4K at up to 120p.
In addition to the mechanical 3-axis gimbal, Insta360 is said to have implemented its 6-axis FlowState stabilization using gyro data. AI is used for subject tracking, and other filming modes include Dolly Zoom, Barrel Roll (360° rotation), Bullet Time, Time-Lapse, Motion Time-Lapse, Slow Motion, Night Mode, and Portrait Mode.
