Kinefinity offers a universally applicable viewfinder solution with its Eagle-EVFs, which is also compatible with cameras from other manufacturers. In addition to the SDI version for cine cameras that was released first, an HDMI version for DSLM & Co. has also been available since this spring.
In the run-up to the IBC, a new firmware was announced for these electronic viewfinders, which brings the following improvements:
**Firmware v2.2 Update**
1) Log-to-Rec.709 Monitoring: View Rec.709 color during shooting for quick exposure and color evaluation. Supports SLog3, VLog, FLog2, NLog, Clog, Clog2, Clog3.
2) Focus Assist Sharpening: Adjustable[1–20], enhancing object edge sharpness for clearer and more precise manual focus.
3) On-Screen Function Notifications: Shows active functions (Peaking, False Color, Zebra, Magnification) to prevent confusion.
4) False Color Exposure Scale: Displays exact exposure values for different color regions, improving exposure accuracy.
5) Magnification Indicator: Shows zoomed area position and movement direction for easier framing and subject tracking.
6) Color Fine-Tuning: Adjust color temperature or tint for a more comfortable or accurate viewing experience.
7) Enhanced Screen Saver: Protects the display and extends lifespan, optimized from the original screen-off function.
8) Assist Function State Memory: Restores previous settings (Peaking, False Color, Zebra, etc.) after reboot for seamless workflow.
