LG has unveiled a slew of new monitors for professional users at CES 2021 - the one with the most interesting features is probably the UltraFine OLED Pro 32EP950 - a 32" (or 31.5") OLED monitor with 4K UltraHD (3,840 x 2,160) resolution that covers 99% of both the professional 
DCI-P3 and AdobeRGB color spaces (here our basics article on DCI-P3 as well as other color spaces).
The self-emitting 10-bit OLED display gives the 32EP950 a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, while the independent dimming control (OLED Pixel Dimming HDR) of each of its more than eight million pixels helps eliminate the annoying halo effect common to HDR LCD displays. OLED technology is rarely used in monitors due to their high price, and then only in professional models.

OLED technology, (i.e. the fact that each pixel corresponds to an LED and can be controlled individually) not only enables the high contrast ratio but also a very good display of HDR content, which guarantees the UltraFine OLED Pro a DisplayHDR 400 True Black certification. According to this specification, the brightness - about which LG does not provide any information - is at least 400 nits.
LG&s hardware calibration solution (via LG Calibration Studio) allows users to make direct adjustments to ensure the highest level of color accuracy and consistency.

Interfaces on the 32EP950 include a USB Type-C that can power notebooks with 90W of charging current, two DisplayPorts, an HDMI port, and three USB ports. The UltraFine OLED Pro also has a KVM switch that can be used to alternately control two computers with just a keyboard and mouse connected to the monitor via USB.

LG still doesn&t have any further information, such as maximum brightness, price and release date of the UltraFine OLED Pro - we hope that LG will provide it soon for this extremely interesting monitor.
The other new LG UltraGear and UltraWide monitors, which also have some technical features that make them interesting for video professionals, will be presented in a separate news soon.
