WOLED instead of RGB-OLEDLG has already released some of the technical specifications of the new models the rest will follow at the official presentation at CES 2025 in January 2025. Both new displays utilize LG&s WOLED technology, a layer of white OLEDs responsible for illumination, combined with overlying RGB color filters and transparent areas. WOLED offers several advantages over classic RGB-OLEDs, such as higher brightness and contrast, better energy efficiency, and a lower risk of burn-in in addition to fundamental OLED properties like the ability to display true black. LG&s GX9 series is also certified for low blue light emissions and features an anti-glare and low reflection (AGLR) coating to minimize screen reflections and glare in bright environments.
