The three-day Apple Mega Event, which correctly predicted the multi-day Apple "Experience" launch event based on rumors from www.slashcam.de/news/single/Drei-Tage-Apple-Mega-Event-mit-Einsteiger-MacBook--19827.html, enters its second day, bringing not only an updated Studio Display but also a completely new top model, the Studio Display XDR. Both are 27" and feature a 5K resolution (5120 x 2880 pixels), 10-bit color depth, and support for the DCI-P3 color space—however, Apple positions them very differently: the Studio Display costs 1,699 Euros and is a slightly technically updated version of the four-year-old Studio Display, still relying on full-area LED backlighting. ![]() Apple Studio Display and Studio Display XDR The Studio Display XDR, which is more than twice as expensive, uses— ![]() Apple Studio Display XDR Apple Studio Display XDRThe The interfaces of the Studio Display XDR include two Thunderbolt 5 ports (one for connecting to the computer, the other for daisy-chaining further Thunderbolt 5 peripherals or displays) as well as two USB-C ports. Up to 140W (even more than the Studio Display) is available via Thunderbolt 5 to quickly charge even power-hungry MacBooks like the 16" MacBook Pro. The Studio Display XDR comes with a 12MP webcam that uses the Center Stage function to ensure users stay in the center of the frame when moving. Also included is a ring of three microphones with directional beamforming, as well as an immersive 6-speaker system with 3D Audio support. ![]() Apple Studio Display XDR Pleasingly, unlike the now discontinued Apple Studio DisplayApple has given the "new" ![]() Apple Studio Display XDR Like the XDR model, the Studio Display also features a 12MP Center Stage camera, three integrated microphones, and 6 speakers (as was already the case with the 2022 predecessor model). The upgrade essentially only concerns the interfaces: instead of Thunderbolt 3, there is now the current Thunderbolt 5, as well as, for the first time, a downstream Thunderbolt port for daisy-chaining up to four Studio Displays or other accessories, plus two (instead of three) USB-C ports. The Studio Display delivers up to 96W of charging power via Thunderbolt 5, enough to charge a 14" MacBook Pro. ![]() Apple Studio Display XDR Ports Versions and PricesBoth new displays are available in versions with standard glass or Nano-texture glass, and with a tilt-adjustable stand, a tilt- and height-adjustable stand, or a VESA adapter. The new Studio Display with a tilt-adjustable stand and standard glass costs 1,699 Euros; the version with Nano-texture glass is 300 Euros more expensive, and an additional 400 Euros is added for the height-adjustable stand. The Apple Studio Display XDR, on the other hand, already includes the tilt- and height-adjustable stand as standard and costs 3,499 Euros, or 3,799 Euros with Nano-texture glass. Both models can be pre-ordered starting March 4th and will be available from Wednesday, March 11th. deutsche Version dieser Seite: Kleines Upgrade und neues Topmodell - Apple Studio Display und Studio Display XDR |
