Asus introduced the ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 (GX651) at CES 2026, a gaming notebook featuring two 16" 3K OLED touchscreens. Compared to its previous ROG dual-screen approaches, Asus is opting this time for two equally sized 16:10 panels connected by a hinge, along with a detachable Bluetooth keyboard. Dual OLED Displays in Various ConfigurationsThe two 16" 3K displays are particularly interesting for mobile video editing, as they are not only high-quality thanks to their OLED technology but also offer an extremely large amount of desktop space for a notebook. For example, video editing software can be displayed with a full-screen preview window and the program interface including the timeline. ![]() Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 The "normal" notebook display is connected to the identical second display via a hinge, and the two screens can be used—as with the Both screens offer a resolution of 3K (2,880 x 1,800 pixels) with a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz and G-SYNC support for variable fps. For professional work with video, such as HDR previews and color-critical tasks, both displays are recommended due to their full support for the DCI-P3 color space, high peak brightness of over 1,100 nits, and their representation of true black according to the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1000 certification, along with high contrast ratios (1,000,000:1). Both are factory calibrated (Delta E < 1) and Pantone validated. ![]() Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 CPU and GPUThe processing power is, of course, also noteworthy: the Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 can be maximally equipped with an Intel Ultra 9 processor 386H at 2.1 GHz and 16 cores, as well as a mobile GeForce RTX 5090 (24 GB VRAM) at a TGP of 135W. This is complemented by up to 64 GB of LPDDR5X-8533 memory and up to a 2 TB PCIe 5.0 SSD. Cooling is handled by liquid metal on the CPU, a vapor chamber, two fans, and graphite foils. However, the 90 Wh battery has to power two active OLED displays, which will likely noticeably reduce battery life in dual-screen operation compared to single-screen use. A 250 W power adapter covers the power requirements at the desk. ![]() Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 InterfacesThe interfaces of the 2.85 kg Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 include two Thunderbolt 4 ports (USB-C with DP 2.1/PD 3.0), one HDMI 2.1 FRL output, two USB-A (3.2 Gen 2) interfaces, as well as a UHS-II SD reader and a combo audio jack. For wireless connectivity, Asus relies on Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0. Availability and PriceAsus plans to launch the Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 in the second quarter of 2026. The price and final configuration options will be announced then—given the current RAM crisis affecting more and more components, this is a good decision, as the total price will likely increase significantly by the time of market launch. deutsche Version dieser Seite: Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16: Dual-Screen-Notebook mit zwei 16"-OLEDs und RTX 5090 |
