According to rumors, the launch of another version of the Mavic 3 seems to be imminent - DJI has recently submitted the relevant documents to the American regulatory authority FCC fccid.io/SS3-L2P2104. "Mavic 3 Classic" is the name of the new model, of which there are already some photos to see thanks to the well-known Twitter leaker DealsDrone.
DJI Mavic 3 Classic
How does the Mavic 3 Classic differ from the released about a year ago Mavic 3 (Standard/Cine)? What is clear is that while the new model is based on the standard Mavic 3 and thus has its basic technical features, it has also been shortened somewhat in order to offer the new model at a lower price.
The biggest confirmed change probably concerns the camera equipment: so the Mavic 3 Classic will have only one camera. This will probably have the same technical specifications as the main camera of the Mavic 3 - the telephoto camera with the 7x zoom lens (28x via digital hybrid zoom), however, has been eliminated. The Mavic 3 Classic can shoot photos with 20 megapixel resolution using its 4/3 CMOS sensor, record 5.1K videos at 50 fps as well as 4K videos at up to 120 fps and has a variable aperture (f/2.8-f/1) - just like the Mavic 3.

In addition, due to the omitted camera, corresponding internal components such as circuitry have also been removed. This, along with the weight saved by the removed telephoto camera, could result in an increase in flight time. Added is said to be the ability to use the 5.170 to 5.250 MHz band in addition to the previous frequency bands (2.400 to 2.4835 GHz; 5.725 to 5.850 GHz). The Mavic 3 Classic&s other capabilities are rumored to be quite similar to those of the Mavic 3, such as the improved APAS and ActiveTrack 5.0 obstacle detection and navigation systems, multiple intelligent flight and recording modes, a flight time of up to 46 minutes, and live video streaming via DJI O3+ at 1080p60.
For comparison - the dual camera of the DJI Mavic 3.
The price?
The Mavic 3 currently costs 1,929 euros (i.e. the starting price of 2,099 euros has since been reduced somewhat - the Mavic 3 Cine Combo with the possibility of recording in professional ProRes format even 4,799 euros), the DJI Air 2S 999 euros, the Mini 3 Pro 829 euros. So there exists a large price gap between the consumer and semi-pro models, in which DJI will presumably position the Mavic 3 Classic at a price well below that of the Mavic 3 Standard, targeting users who want to produce high-quality video, but can do without the telephoto camera in favor of a lower price.
DJI Mavic 3 Classic
Interestingly, however, the leaked photos of the packaging box show that the Mavic 3 Classic comes bundled with the new RC remote control with integrated 5.5" display, which was introduced together with the Mini 3 Pro. This makes it better equipped than the basic version of the Mavic 3, which only comes with the old RC-NC1 remote control without its own display. Since the RC remote control costs around 300 euros, the price advantage of the Classic should actually shrink considerably due to the shortened components compared to the cheapest version of the Mavic 3.

There are estimates which assume a price of 1,400 for the Classic - which we think is too low considering a price of ,049 for a Mavic 3 - especially when the RC remote is now included in the package as a quasi upgrade. Also new is a bundle of the Air 2 S along with the new DJI RC remote control instead of the NC1.
