LG has introduced four new "Ultragear" Nano-IPS monitors between 27 and 37.5 inches with refresh rates from 144 Hz to 240 Hz, three of which (the 38GN950, 27GN950 and 34GN850) cover 98% of the professional DCI-P3 color space and feature two HDMI ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 and two USB 3.0 ports. The color space coverage and also the other technical data make them also interesting for working with video. All models support variable frame rates via FreeSync (2) and G-Sync and have a response time of only 1 ms.  LG 38GN950
The top model is the 37.5" large and ultra-wide  LG 38GN950 with a resolution of 3,840 × 1,600 pixels (UWQHD+) with a brightness of 450 nit. It complies with the DisplayHDR600 standard and should therefore be able to reproduce HDR quite well. Its refresh rate is variable 144 Hz and it has a Thunderbolt 3 connector in addition to the above mentioned interfaces. It should come onto the market in July at a price of around 1,600 euro. The 27GN950 UltraGear on the other hand is only 27 inches tall - its Nano IPS 4K UltraHD (3,840x2,160) 10-bit panel also covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color space and is brighter than average with 450 nits - it also supports HDR via DisplayHDR600 standard and has a variable refresh rate of 144 Hz (166 Hz with overclocking). Its special feature is the possibility of hardware colour calibration for reliable colour reproduction. It should be on the market in August at a price of around 900 euros.  LG 34GN850 The 34 inch 34GN850 is similar to the 27" model except for the display size and resolution (3.440x1.440). However, it only supports the DisplayHDR400 standard, which is not sufficient for displaying real HDR - here our article about this: When can a monitor display real HDR? Be careful with the DisplayHDR standards. It is already available in stores at prices starting at around 1,050 Euro. The fourth in the bunch is the 27" FullHD monitor 27GN740. It is especially distinguished by its high refresh rate of 240 Hz. Its color space support, on the other hand, is smaller than in the other models - it represents 99% of the sRGB color space.
