At NAB 2026, Blackmagic has introduced two new high-performance storage solutions aimed primarily at live productions and demanding post-production workflows: the Blackmagic Cloud Store Ultra and the Blackmagic Media Dock Ultra. The former offers up to 48 TB of storage via M.2 flash memory cards, while the latter serves as a docking station for up to three Blackmagic Media Modules the recording medium used by Blackmagic&s URSA Cine camera series. The biggest upgrade over previous models is the inclusion of two independent 100G Ethernet ports, each delivering up to 12.5 GB/s, enabling simultaneous recording and read access for editing. ![]() Blackmagic Cloud Store Ultra Blackmagic Cloud Store Ultra: Flash-Based NAS with Up to 48 TBThe Cloud Store Ultra is a rack-mount network storage unit built around twelve M.2 flash memory cards (same as the Cloud Store Max), which operate by default in a RAID 0 array for maximum performance. Optionally, the system can be reformatted to RAID 5 every sixth M.2 card is then used for parity data, which costs some capacity but significantly improves data protection. This is an option the Cloud Store Max does not offer. Blackmagic offers the Cloud Store Ultra in 24 TB and 48 TB models. Two Separate 100G Ethernet PortsThe key new feature of the Cloud Store Ultra is its two completely independent 100G Ethernet ports the Cloud Store Max only had a single 100G and four 10G ports. This means, for example, that a HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G can record eight camera feeds simultaneously, fully utilizing the bandwidth of one port. Thanks to the second 100G port, dozens of DaVinci Resolve editing workstations can still access the data on the Cloud Store Ultra without any issues even while recording is still in progress. Both ports operate as fully independent networks that cannot interfere with each other. Using a Blackmagic Ethernet Switch 360P, each 100G port can also be split into up to 16 individual 10G Ethernet connections. ![]() Blackmagic Cloud Store Ultra Additional technical details: The server-style front-to-back cooling with four redundant fans is designed to prevent hotspots and thermal throttling of the M.2 cards another feature the Cloud Store Max lacks. Two redundant power supplies also contribute to reliability. The integrated HDMI and SDI monitoring outputs allow the storage&s live status to be monitored in real time on a display including read/write activity, Ethernet data transfer, and cloud sync status. ![]() Blackmagic Cloud Store Ultra Monitoring Synchronization via Blackmagic CloudLike all models in the Blackmagic Cloud Store series, the Cloud Store Ultra supports synchronization with Blackmagic Cloud: camera data can be synced automatically as soon as a remote film crew starts shooting, and post-production can begin immediately thanks to DaVinci Resolve proxy files. There are no subscription fees, monthly licenses, or usage tracking storage management is handled through a free utility for macOS and Windows. Price and AvailabilityThe Cloud Store Ultra 24TB is expected to be available from June at ,835, and the 48 TB model at ,695. ![]() Blackmagic Media Dock Ultra Blackmagic Media Dock Ultra: Blackmagic Media Modules with 100G ConnectivityThe Media Dock Ultra takes a somewhat different approach than the Cloud Store Ultra: it is a rack-mount dock that holds up to three Blackmagic Media Modules the same modules used in URSA Cine cameras. Each 16 TB module (the 8 TB model is being discontinued) contains four M.2 flash memory cards in a RAID 0 configuration. The key advantage over fixed internal storage like the Cloud Store Ultra is that the modules can simply be removed and taken along after a production particularly useful for OB vans and on-location work. The Media Dock Ultra also features two independent 100G Ethernet ports, enabling the same workflow as the Cloud Store Ultra: recording via one port from a HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G, editing via the other. LED rings around the media bays provide a visual indication of current read and write activity. ![]() Blackmagic Media Dock Ultra The unit also uses front-to-back cooling with multiple redundant fans, dual power supplies, and HDMI and SDI monitoring outputs. Blackmagic Cloud synchronization allows media to be synced across geographically distributed locations multiple Media Docks can be kept in sync with each other, so all team members work with up-to-date local copies. Price and AvailabilityThe Blackmagic Media Dock Ultra is expected to be available from June at ,995. deutsche Version dieser Seite: Blackmagic Cloud Store Ultra und Media Dock Ultra - Profi-Speicher mit Dual-100G |
