New Sub-250g Model: DJI&s New Entry-Level Drone Lito Arrives April 23 With OcuSync 5? ![]() DJI Lito X1 However, considering it will be unveiled in just over a week, we know surprisingly little compared to usual: The existence of a model called Lito has been known since the Lito X1 was approved on November 27 and the Lito 1 on December 11 by the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the federal agency responsible for regulating telecommunications and electronic media. The filings also revealed that the Lito will feature multi-band connectivity via 2.4 GHz, 5.2 GHz, and 5.8 GHz, Bluetooth Low Energy, and Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), along with SDR functionality. New Entry-Level ModelIt&s also clear that DJI is launching a new entry-level model with the Lito 1, which is rumored to cost . Positioned above it is the Lito X1, which at would sit just below the Mini 5 Pro. Both are expected to weigh under 250g, placing them in drone class C0 meaning they can be flown without a drone pilot&s license. Visually, the two variants are barely distinguishable from each other and closely resemble the Mini 4 Pro and 4K, with a very compact design, foldable rotor arms, and a 3-axis gimbal with integrated camera (though the additional side-facing obstacle sensors found on the Mini 5 Pro appear to be absent). ![]() DJI Lito 1 Flight TimeFlight time with the standard battery is said to be around 30 minutes, and up to 50 minutes with a "Plus" battery though in that case, as with the Mini 5 Pro, the drone would significantly exceed the weight limit. This means the same drone would be subject to different regulations; however, the Plus battery will once again not be available in Europe for precisely this reason. What Sets the Two Models Apart? One difference is internal storage: the Lito 1 comes with 22 GB, while the X1 offers nearly double at 42 GB. But that alone doesn&t explain the significant price difference or the existence of two variants in the first place there must be considerably more to it. Moreover, it remains unclear what distinguishes the Lito from other DJI drones in this price range the DJI Neo 2 at 239 and the Mini 4K at 269 or from other sub-250g drones in general. ![]() DJI Mini 4K OcuSync 5?A major (internal) upgrade could concern video transmission, as the FCC documents reference a new SDR Transmission 2 transmitter that is significantly more capable than the current DJI Transmission in terms of radio technology thanks to a more advanced antenna system, a broader spectrum, more flexible channel modes, and a 4-antenna MIMO design. This could form the foundation for a new generation of DJI&s proprietary radio/transmission system OcuSync (currently O4+). OcuSync 5 could improve fundamental capabilities such as range, throughput, and signal stability, enabling more stable connections over greater distances or at higher resolutions. There has also been speculation about the ability to transmit data via 5G cellular, but we found no evidence of this in the ![]() DJI SDR Transmission 2 Whether an OcuSync upgrade alone justifies an entirely new drone generation remains questionable DJI has likely packed additional improvements and innovations into the Lito 1 and especially the Lito X1 in terms of camera capabilities, obstacle avoidance, or other features. We&ll have to wait and see what the public unveiling brings in a week&s time. Weitere Bilder zur Newsmeldung:
