Now also on Windows: EvrBridge - Automatic camera metadata management for DaVinci Resolve

Anyone who works regularly with DaVinci Resolve knows the problem: camera metadata is embedded in the recordings, but it is not automatically and completely read into the Media Pool.

The Italian developer EvrApp (EVR = Exif Video Resolved), previously known primarily for the macOS tool EvrExpanse, which imports metadata into various editing programs, is now bringing its full functionality to Windows users with the EvrBridge app. EvrApp&s new Windows tool, evrBridge, is the successor to[www.slashcam.de/news/single/EVR-Tool-liest-Kamera-EXIF-Metadaten-in-Resolve--P-16492.html](evrDVR for Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve) – it has been completely reprogrammed and now offers all the metadata extraction functions of evrExpanse.

What EvrBridge does

EvrBridge reads embedded metadata directly from video and image files and converts it into a structured CSV file that can be seamlessly imported into the DaVinci Resolve Media Pool. This eliminates the otherwise tedious manual entry of metadata, which means a significant time saving, especially for larger projects with multiple cameras.

After import, the following fields, among others, can be automatically populated in Resolve:
- Scene and Take
- ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed, White Balance
- Color Space and Gamma Notes
- Lens and Camera Data
- Timecode and GPS Data

Parallel Batch Processing

EvrBridge processes video files via batch processing, meaning a selected folder and all its subfolders are searched recursively, and all found files are then read in parallel. The number of parallel jobs can be adjusted to suit your hardware.

Support for Sidecar/Companion Files

A special feature of EvrBridge is its support for sidecar files. Companion files such as Sony M01.XML, Canon Companion XML, and Canon XF JPG are automatically read and evaluated. This restores information contained outside the video container itself, such as serial numbers, firmware versions, lens and gamma data – for example, Sony RTMD track data, Canon Cinema Gamma hex codes, or XML fallback values.

Broad Camera and Format Support

EvrBridge supports cameras from Sony Alpha, Sony XDCAM, Canon, ARRI, Blackmagic, Nikon, Panasonic, Fujifilm, Z-Cam, Kinefinity, Atomos, GoPro, iPhone, and Mcpro24fps. The following file formats are supported: MOV, MP4, MXF, MKV, JPG, JPEG, PNG, TIF, DNG, HEIC, AVIF, NEV, and R3D.

Technical Basis

Well-known analysis tools such as ExifTool, MediaInfo, and FFprobe are integrated directly – a separate installation of third-party software is not required.

System Requirements: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit, Intel x64), DaVinci Resolve 17 or newer.

Price and Availability

EvrBridge is available immediately directly via the EvrApp website. An introductory discount of 30% is available until May 12, 2026: .99 instead of the regular price of .99. The license is perpetual and includes support as well as free updates within the v1.x.x major version.

A 15-day full version without restrictions is available for testing – no credit card required, no file limit. After the trial period expires, EvrBridge continues to run in a restricted mode that limits processing to one file per run.
