RØDE has introduced the AI-Micro, a new audio interface with two microphone inputs that can be used with desktop computers (Mac and PC) as well as smartphones and iPhones, allowing them to connect two microphones using its 3.5mm mini-jack input. ;) RØDE AI-Micro
In order to work with the various devices,the compact "AI-Micro" comes with three USB connection cables,each 3m long,with Lightning,USB-C as well as USB-A port. The 3.5mm stereo headphone output is used for signal playback from the connected device or live monitoring of the recording. Not only can microphones with 3.5 mm mini-jack (aka TRS) be connected, but also  RØDE&s smartLav+ wired lavalier microphone with its four-pin TRRS connector without an adapter. The RØDE AI-Micro automatically detects whether a microphone with TRS or TRRS connector is connected and changes the pinout accordingly. It is also recognized by the (also free) podcast/streaming software RØDE Connect for Mac/Windows and can be integrated there. I.e. that RØDE Connect for the first time not only together with RØDE microphones, but with AI-Micro from now on with all possible mini-jack microphones regardless of the manufacturer.
