Panasonic has announced a major free update for its Lumix Lab app (iOS/Android) for May 20th, which allows photos and videos from Lumix cameras to be transferred, color-graded, and shared directly. Lumix Lab App 3.0.0 brings, among other things, support for RAW image editing, "Slow & Quick" (S&Q) video editing, data transfer via cable, new parameters for LUTs, and the practical ability to perform firmware updates for LUMIX cameras via the app. The major innovation of the ![]() Panasonic LUMIX Lab App 3.0.0 Future firmware updates via appThe biggest innovation of the LUMIX Lab App 3.0.0 is arguably the ability to now wirelessly install firmware updates on Lumix cameras and lenses via the app, meaning the previously rather cumbersome process of first downloading new firmware to a PC and then updating it on the camera via a memory card is no longer necessary. Prerequisites for the firmware update via app: the new Lumix Lab version 3.0.0 must be used, a memory card must be inserted into the camera, and the camera firmware must be updated to the versions listed below (or higher): Panasonic Lumix S1R II (Firmware Ver. 1.5), S1 II (Ver. 1.4), S1 IIE (Ver. 1.4), S5 II (Ver. 3.7), S5 IIX (Ver. 2.7), S9 (Ver. 1.9), GH7 (Ver. 1.7), and G9 II (Ver. 2.6). §PIX4§:Panasonic LUMIX S9 The first camera update via app will be the new firmware for the LUMIX S9, announced simultaneously with the Lumix Lab 3.0.0 update. It works with the LUMIX S1 II (E), LUMIX S1R II, LUMIX S5 II, LUMIX S5 IIX, LUMIX S9, LUMIX GH7, LUMIX G9 II, as well as the new L10. ![]() Panasonic LUMIX Lab App 3.0.0 - RAW Editing and extended LUTs The new features of the Panasonic LUMIX Lab App 3.0.0- Support for RAW image editing, allowing for more detailed and customized editing. - "Slow & Quick" (S&Q) video editing, which allows dynamic video scenes to be edited directly on the smartphone. - Firmware updates for LUMIX cameras via the LUMIX Lab app. - LUTs can now be created with additional parameters such as grain, color noise, sharpness, and noise reduction (when applying LUTs in the LUMIX Lab app, the settings for sharpness and noise reduction are not applied to videos). - Update of the app user interface. ![]() Panasonic LUMIX Lab App 3.0.0 - Data via cable and S&Q video editing New features only for LUMIX L10 and S9 (with firmware 2.0):- "My Photo Style" can now be edited directly in the app to allow for greater customization. - Cable connections are now supported for the transfer of images, LUTs, and "My Photo Style" edits, enabling faster file transfers and a more stable connection. - LUTs created with additional parameters such as grain, color noise, sharpness, and noise reduction can be applied directly to photos and videos in the camera using REAL TIME LUT.
