In 2018, Canon introduced its first mirrorless EOS R camera with the new RF bayonet. After initially offering only a very small selection of lenses for the new mount, Canon now lists 27 RF lenses on its website, including 13 fixed focal lengths. Still quite manageable.

Due to the small flange focal length, EF lenses can be adapted well, and RF lenses are now also available from third-party manufacturers. However, there are currently indications that the latter could change again.
For example, Viltrox has taken the 85mm F1.8 for RF off its website and, in response to a customer inquiry, stated in a chat that Canon had told them not to sell RF mount products.

Viltrox 85mm F1.8 for RF - no longer available
Also at Samyang (or its German distributor Walser) the AF 85mm F1.4 as well as the AF 14mm F2.8 are "unfortunately no longer available", as are the manual versions. However, manual RF lenses still appear to be available for order from other manufacturers such as Venus Lens or Meike, and Sirui had also announced additional full-frame anamorphics for Canon RF, among others, just yesterday.
This indicates that Canon mainly wants to stop the third-party use of the RF lens protocol, but this is only speculation so far, because there is no information from Canon itself. However, it is quite possible that Canon wants to keep the business with active RF lenses for itself and only release the protocol for licensing later, if at all.
