Canon has just announced an RF mount version of its affordable 75-300 mm F4.0-5.6 full-frame telephoto zoom lens in several countries. The optical design of this lens has been on the market for over 25 years as an EF lens (and is still available as a new lens in many places).
![]() Canon RF 75-300 mm F4.0-5.6 With a length of 146 mm, the RF-mount model is a whole 24 mm longer than the EF-mount version, which corresponds pretty much exactly to the difference in the dimensions of the mount. The RF model also weighs 27 grams more - exactly 507 grams. The new version with RF mount also consists of 13 elements in 9 groups. It offers a minimum focusing distance of 1.5 meters and a maximum magnification of 0.25x, which is achieved at the 300 mm position. The aperture consists of 7 blades, whereby the maximum aperture is “only” between F4-5.6, depending on the focal length used. Standard filters can be attached via a 58 mm filter thread. With these technical data, this model is therefore intended more for beginners and will probably be used mainly as a kit lens. ![]() Canon RF 75-300 mm F4.0-5.6 There is currently no information on when the lens will be available in Germany and at what price. But it has already been introduced in many European countries. In the USA, however, no market launch has even been announced, which according to rumors is due to the unclear situation regarding the level of US tariffs. The list price is expected to be around 300 euros, with the EF version available for around 200 euros. ![]() deutsche Version dieser Seite: Günstige RF Kit-Zoomoptik - Canon RF 75-300 mm F4.0-5.6 |
