According to Sony, the ECM-M1 is Sony&s most versatile shotgun microphone to date, as it combines eight different recording modes with different polar patterns, which can be selected using a dial on the back. Beamforming technology digitally processes the signals from the four separate microphone capsules differently to achieve the ideal sensitivity in different directions for different video recording situations (such as interviews, solo content creation or concert recordings). The eight different recording modes are Super-directional, Uni-directional, Omni-directional, Super-directional (rear), Super-directional (front+rear), Super-directional (front/rear), Separate and Stereo Ultra-directional. The sound can be recorded from 360° to 30° and various combinations in between. First tests will soon show how well this works. ;) Sony Shotgun Microphone ECM-M1 Recording Modes Here is a demonstration of the eight recording modes: Distracting background noise can be eliminated by a digital noise-canceling filter, if desired. A high-pass filter reduces wind noise, the hum of the air conditioning system and other low-frequency vibration noises. The digital audio interface via Multi Interface Shoe provides a completely digital signal path from the microphone to the camera, thus avoiding the noise and distortion of analog transmissions - however, this means that the ECM-M1 can only be used with appropriate Sony cameras. ;) Sony Shotgun-Mikrofon ECM-M1 Mit kompatiblen Kameras können auf Kanal 3 und 4 omnidirektionale Sicherungsaufnahmen mit verschiedenen Empfindlichkeiten (-20 dB für Kanal 4) anfertigen, während Kanal 1 und 2 die vom User ausgewählte Richtcharakteristik aufweisen. Preis und Erscheinungsdatum Das Sony ECM-M1 Mikro ist nur rund 6,5 cm lang und 65 Gramm schwer, es kostet 399 Euro und wird in Kürze lieferbar sein. Praktischerweise wird das Sony ECM-M1 mit einem einfach abnehmbaren effektiven Fell-Windschutz geliefert, der das Windrauschen bei Außenaufnahmen reduziert.
