As the smallest camera in the Cinema EOS series to date, the C50 is compact but equipped with professional features. At its heart is a new 7K full-frame CMOS sensor with Dual Base ISO support (ISO 800 / 6,400), which is said to achieve a dynamic range of up to 15+ stops. Together with a DIGIC DV7 image processor, RAW recordings are possible at up to 7K 60p - in 4K up to 120p, and in 2K even up to 180p. A special feature of the C50 is the possibility of Open Gate recording - first Cinema EOS camera - i.e. the entire area of the sensor is used for maximum resolution and flexibility in the choice of recording format - more on this in the interview:
