Three new lenses from Sigma: AF Cine Line 28-105mm T3 FF, 35MM F1.4 DG II ART, 15MM F1.4 DC

Sigma has introduced three new, exciting lenses: the new AF Cine Line 28-105mm T3 FF cine lens, which includes autofocus functionality, the fast prime lens 35MM F1.4 DG II ART, and the APS-C optic 15mm F1.4 DC Contemporary.

Sigma Cine Line 28-105mm T3 FF

With the Sigma AF Cine Line 28-105mm T3 FF, Sigma continues to expand its AF Cine Line portfolio. This new lens joins the AF CINE LINE 28-45mm T2 FF. The Sigma AF Cine Line is characterized, as its name suggests, by cine lenses that are also designed for AF operation. Like classic manual cine lenses, they feature three Mod 0.8 gear rings for focus, zoom, and aperture, and are available for both E-mount and L-mount.

Such hybrid lenses are gaining increasing popularity and, in our view, are particularly suitable for smaller productions or solo shooter projects where quick switching between manual and automatic functions is necessary.

In contrast to their photo counterparts, these cine lenses are designed for linear focusing out of the box. Manual focusing remains a focus-by-wire action, but it should come very close to manual focusing behavior, which is also aided by the defined end stops.

The photo counterpart to the new Sigma AF Cine Line 28-105mm T3 FF is likely the 28–105mm F2.8 DG DN, which scores points with its consistently high light sensitivity. Sigma specifies a T-stop range of T3 – T22 for the new AF Cine Line 28-105mm T3 FF.

The number of aperture blades is 12, and the minimum focusing distance is 0.4m. The filter diameter is 82mm, and the front diameter is 95mm. Sigma states the weight of the new Cine AF lens as 1.3kg.

The Sigma AF Cine Line 28-105mm T3 FF is expected to be available starting in April 2026.
Sigma&s recommended retail price (RRP) is 3,299 Euros.

Sigma 35MM F1.4 DG II ART

With the new 35MM F1.4 DG II ART, Sigma introduces the successor to its popular 35MM F1.4 DG DN ART lens. According to Sigma, the new 35MM F1.4 DG II ART has been built to be lighter and more compact while achieving even higher optical quality.

The Sigma 35MM F1.4 DG II ART now weighs only 525g in the E-mount version (previously 640g). The optical construction consists of 15 elements in 12 groups and is said to resolve even higher than its predecessor, with the new AAC Coating further reducing stray light and ghosting.

New, previously difficult-to-process glass materials are partly responsible for the increased optical quality. Together with four high-precision aspherical elements and two SLD glass elements, the Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG II | Art is intended to further reduce aberrations overall, and especially axial chromatic aberrations, which can frequently occur in lenses with a large aperture.

The Sigma 35MM F1.4 DG II ART features two AFL buttons that can be assigned individual functions via the camera menu on compatible cameras. Furthermore, the lens has the manual aperture ring for direct aperture adjustment on the lens, complete with a "click and de-click function" and a lock switch.

The aperture consists of 11 blades, the minimum focusing distance is 28 cm, and the filter thread accepts 67mm filters.

The new Sigma 35MM F1.4 DG II ART is also expected to be available starting in April 2026.
Sigma&s RRP is 999 Euros.

Sigma 15MM F1.4 DC CONTEMPORARY

With the 15MM F1.4 DC CONTEMPORARY, Sigma complements its lineup of fast APS-C lenses and simultaneously introduces the successor to the Sigma 16mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary.

The Sigma 15MM F1.4 DC CONTEMPORARY supports a range of lens mounts. These include Sony E-mount and FUJIFILM X Mount, as well as Canon RF Mount.

The optical construction consists of 13 elements in 11 groups. The minimum focusing distance is 17.7 cm, and the filter diameter is 58mm. The weight is approximately 220g, making it about 50% lighter than its predecessor.

The new Sigma 15MM F1.4 DC CONTEMPORARY is expected to be available starting in March 2026.
The RRP is 499 Euros.
