I, like many others, a Klien (big) problem! ;-)
I have a mp4 file to 701 MB is my DVD player but not reads.
Plus a couple mpg's and wants them all to burn a DVD with menu, etc.

First you need to investigate what your DVD player because it can play. For emergency, you can find it here: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers
Then you should find out what the format mean that your player can play and how you edit your material / burn had to on your player funzt. To do this you will find here a lot: http://dvfaq.slashcam.de/

Yes, congratulations! Then burn your MPEG-4 as a data DVD, MPEG-2 video as a DVD and MPEG-1 as a VCD.

Did the. Mp4 as a data DVD burned with Nero 7 but the DVD player plays from the net.

Then you have to stop everything in a format that your player can play. That is in any case MPEG-2 video DVD.

For Mpeg4 / 4xx/5xx seems to be DivX to act.

For video DVDs with menu versuchs times with Ulead movie distillery. Menu for DivX with DivX Author exist.
Video DVDs run on all players, DivX only on relatively few.
