Infoseite // 16:9 anamorphic import of MiniDV

Frage von Tobias Franz:

Hello,
I have the following challenge in 16:9:
1. Recording on MiniDV in 16:9 (anamorphic)
2. Cut into FinalCut
3. Output to MiniDV

For the output, I have a new sequence is created in the 4:3 format - the picture looks so pinched off (so as far as what is correct). Output to MiniDV problems. Raw materials and cut film on the tape to see (in my Camera XM1) both stretched out. Also okay.

But now my problems:
1. my customer has a different camera, which the raw material correctly in 16:9 (letterbox) indicates the cut film then but only in shrink to 4:3 format! I've heard that there was something like "DV flags" exist, which notifies cameras, which format is to be expected. Unfortunately exported FinalCut this flag fails with (?). Or do I need somewhere because the famous checkmark do?
2. The thing is that my client again with the material first reads the program and unfortunately, the format is not auto detect and recognize - so he gets only egg heads in 4:3. Maybe yes someone knows the settings for Premiere, so that my shrink to, ungeflaggtes displays 16:9 material?

Thanks for your help,

Tobias

Hello Tobias,

I have something made just this morning ... as it was the same? - I was in Premiere (6.5) imported video file is clicked (so marked) and then in the menu> Clip> Advanced Options> Pixel Aspect Ratio settings ... or something like that.

Unfortunately I have not now the exact path / text in front of me.

Hi Markus,

Thanks for your answer! Have meanwhile rausbekommen what (probably) the problem is:
The recordings were made in camera by the "letter boxing" (Black bars) to 16:9 format. After cutting the material I have, however, so the camera off, as if the material with a anamorphotic Lens (so bruised and without the bars) would have been.
The difference is actually that the pixel aspect ratio to another is: (1.42 or 2). Where am I thus have come - I could but my theory is not as convincing across that it was of success. Would probably s.besten two clear screen shots, or a precise operating instructions ... :-)

Tobias

My above description (for Premiere 6.5) has voted: Clip> Advanced Options> Pixel Aspect Ratio. There must be "D1 / DV PAL Widescreen 16:9 (1.422)", set at a 16:9 - 4:3 video only as a recognized and then stretched out.

That is all. Then appears the video directly in the correct formats.
