Infoseite // 2x Firewire 400 s.Firewire 800 port (; MBP)

Frage von KaiserLu:

The MacBook Pros have a Firewire nurnoch (, 800) Port ... I would like to record SD of two Canon HV20 at the same stream.
Gibts there a possibility?
Express Card is already in use (; s.eSATA SSD)!
Thank you.

Nope none of both ;-)

FireWire 800 is backward compatible with FW400. So just need only a FW800 9pin to FW400 4 pin cable connector for camcorders.

OK, then it is indeed quite easy, thanks:) What I ne maximum cable length for the cameras then? would like something as mobile ...

What do you mean with the right software? If the signals from the hub that is not auto detected two DV streams?

eSATA SSD:
I play video in several levels up to 1920x480;)

Kabelänge with repeaters can be found here:

If you do it all in HDV, the SSD is a bit unnecessary as good hard disks (such as Hitachi UltraStar) with no problems come to about 100MB/Sekunde. HDV has 3.5 Mb / sec, DVCProHD about 14MB/sec.
As previously Core2 Duo comes your not with the encoding with the hard drive prior to its knees ;-)

As an SSD would make a system disk in MAC Book clearly more sense.

No, the signals are not of Final Cut Pro recognized as separate DV stream.
Data on the video homepage, there could be a solution.
I once saw a couple of years, a software solution for Windows.

So I can do without a repeater bridge 20m? Does it have to be a data cable or video war dsa I already cheaper without losing money?

Is not even HDV. However, containing up to 8 play videos. It's mainly about me, and know that operating system, VJ software and videos, not all of the same source. I have the SSD is not synonymous, I would open the option in any case and therefore hold the EC-free space. Internal SSD would of course ne cool thing, but far too expensive;)

Unfortunately I found nothing on the page. But this should have been a problem that occurs frequently and has been solved? : D: - /

On the subject of simultaneous recording, I can only provide theoretical approaches.

1) There is a special software for Windows just for this purpose. Suh-time in IT demand in Oldenburg.

2) A "normal" Capturingprogramm reads a DV stream. Try two (; if different) allow capturing Programs run simultaneously and set it to the two different data streams / or equipment.

Have now a while back-and across sets and then would probably sacrifice but the Express Card slot for two Firewire ports and a fast hard drive or SSD s.Firewire hang 800 or even wait for Light Peak.

With an Express Card to two Firewire ports but then I should easily stream of two sources simultaneously, or record, right?
