Infoseite // 3.5mm jack extension - problem: buzzing noise

Frage von Hoshy:

Hi, have the following problem:

When I RODE s.mein VideoMic one 5m 3.5mm jack extension buckle down, this s.meine JVC GR-DV500 plug in you hear a buzzing noise. Without this extension is not available.

Now I just hope that the extension cord is defective. If not, what else could it one?

Thank you very much,
Hoshy!

Antwort von PowerMac:

The solution is symmetric connection via XLR and a better micro;)

Otherwise, just try another cable. The chances of interference increase with the length and with poor quality of the cables. And high-quality shielded cables are a good idea.

The problem is that when an asymmetric connection, as you join, just cable lengths are recommended up to 3 meters. I gathered myself, no solution at Thomann for 12 ¬. When an adapter to xlr microphone jack, a cable xlr mini jack adapter, and then to 3.5 mm

Had I bought a 5m cable of Skymaster, so nothing special, for approximately EUR 6th I strongly suspect that it has to do with the cable. What cable can you recommend?

Greetings!

Hey, Guest.
Could you list me your compilation times. Since your so seem to work, I would order me this then synonymous.

Thank you!

But you already know that this solution is synonymous unbalanced? A simple adapter of jack to XLR is not enough to be symmetrical to more () about this.

Balanced and unbalanced signals (and local links)

What does "balanced"?

Yet clear. We can convert VHS synonymous HD and then it's HD;)

In the video makes no sense, because the picture thus do not get better. But based on the sound, makes this observation very well meaning, for balanced signals are synonymous with long transmission paths possible.

But the fact is that an unbalanced signal not by a simple jack-XLR adapter can be converted. For this I need a device which can it. The signal is converted, I can do high quality transmitted over long distances.

Conversely, the balanced signal is not synonymous via XLR-jack adapter to convert an unbalanced, unbalanced without making the entire cable route (thus, the vulnerability would be again)! Even for that I need a device which can it.

I hope the lesson did not apply to me. That was a joke.

No Patrick, of course it did not apply Dir ;-)

Comparison of only spurred me on to transfer the situation on the sound, because here we can actually transform one type of signal worse to a better, in order to reap the benefits when traveling over long distances to be.
