Infoseite // 60i, 30p, 24p vs. PAL (Can someone explain to me?)

Frage von Green_Hornet:

Hi,

I'm the Canon HF10 (or HF11) to buy.
The Studio offers a variety of modes. 60i, 30p and 24p (Kinomäßig).

The information I have of an American website had.
The NTSC and have always 30 f / s.

So here I would probably buy PAL device (which are ever different?) With 25 f / s.

Means that the recording modes be synonymous 50i instead of 60i and 25p instead of 30p would be?
Since then the step would be to 24p negligible.

Or am I totally on the wrong?
I am grateful to each relevant Note.

Many greetings,
Jan

So I got me the manual and downloaded Part 1 of the question answered itself.
By default, the 50i on. But you can switch to 25p and a "movie mode" box. What this "movie mode" but exactly makes me an enigma.

Apparently, the movie mode (Engl: Cinema mode) with the Curves what to do. This is probably more linear (keyword cinema gamma).
And that in turn is better for editing.

Possessions but again contacted Canon for more info.

The big difference of 25p and 24p is that 24p officially part of the DVD specifications. Ie who seriously look a movie wants to have (as heard much more about this - more? 'Times here in the forum), the 24p Cam.

I am not quite sure how the Canon 25p realized. Other Cams (eg Sony) use to 50i, the two fields but at the same time. Thus the Kammartefakte when playing away, the material is technically still 50i. Television with 100 Hz technology and deinterlaces buckle is usually not and the result is extreme Geruckel. The same can be synonymous, incidentally happen in the editing program (eg in the calculation of slow motion).

Forget but not the NTSC in certain lights, tubes (50hz) can greatly flicker ;-)!

So here is Canon's answer to the "movie mode":

Quote: Dear Customer, Dear Customer,

Thank you for your inquiry about our cameras.

The "movie-look" is a Picture kinoänlichen lead. A key element is the target of your refresh rate. In addition, as the contrast, brightness, the Curves, etc. adapted to a corresponding picture to obtain.

Yours sincerely,
Canon Support Center

I'm surprised. The answer actually relates to my question. For many other companies (eg TomTom) now get only answers from the text blocks do not always make sense.

No, they have not. Another effect of the current aperture in film cameras, however, movements "choppy", because the exposure time is at an opening angle of 180 ° aperture of only 1 / 48 s (at 24 bps).
Similarly do you s.der video as 1/48s exposure time (for 24p) or 1 / 50 s (at 25p) a.

Antwort von Ernesto:

Why Canon avoids the listing of technical details?
In Cinema mode, the picture is soft. Reduces the resolution, or will the Kantenaufsteilung asked to minus?
The video has computer magazine in the issue 5 / 2008 herhebliche loss of power Resolutionbei Anwenduhg the 25f mode detected, 600 instead of 780 LP.
The paper focused on the Canon XL H1s, but one can assume that this behavior is synonymous with the other shows Videocams.
Canon happens not installed progressive image converter.

many greetings Ernesto

600 instead of 780 LP ..... per what? Per mm or ph?
Because that would have only 900 lines of resolution, whereas LP 780 => 1170 lines Resolutionentspricht. What do you expect for a Picture be?
