my father wants its 80 DV cassettes cut.
If the space for all the movies?
The master recording possible loss, I would like to save it.
As a hard drive, a Western Digital My Book excuse.
I hope the USB port is fast enough.
PC is a P4 CoreDuo 2.4 GHz, 3GB Ram :-)

Hi,
80 hours video (or rather 60, the cartridges are not with safety to the last second vollgequetscht) intersects s.Stück no man (certainly not in a anschaubaren length). So you can quiet the few tapes related to the drag plate, cut it again and what is in HDV / DV off. Delete the next series cartridges ...
The secret is: Master tapes storing. Then you can give the raw material after the cutting of the plate clean. Incidentally, is safer and cheaper yet almost synonymous. Two cassettes used thrift s.falschen place!
So are you with 500 GB probably loose out. After each recording, editing and deletion cycle re defragment, then adjusts the scho.

You can use synonymous change plates when the material times in total plate wants to play - but should always make backups. Hard disks can die.
