Hello,
I tinker s.einem film I made ingame-scenes of a PC game contracted.
I capture footage via avi_demo, I say, thousands of screens which I then had to. avi when I compose with photoshop etc. effects etc have implemented rudimentary.

DivX, xVid codec of your choice or any other location (for example, of www.divX.com).
Then install Virtual Dub (http://www.virtualdub.org/), and start by "Open" to load your output video file. If there is a DV-AVI, you first need a VfW DV codec (eg http://neuron2.net/misc/cedocida016.zip). Now, just select in Virtual Dub on video -> compression of the DivX codec. Click on the "Configure" button and set a data rate of your choice. The data rate indicates how many may have your video kilobits per second - and thus how big it is or will be just s.end what quality it has.
Do you want to encode as 15 minutes and the entire video in 720x576 will be 100 MB big, then you can around 900 kbit / s to choose. Can it be 800 MB big, you can, in principle, until about 7000 kbit / s explode.
The "Single Pass" / "Multi-Pass" indicates whether your video just once with a constant data rate is durchgerechnete (s.schnellsten is) or whether you want to leave the matter of two or several times durchrechnen to get a more efficient compression with variable bit rate (takes much longer, but it brings smaller file with almost the same good quality, but it may synonymous bugs and other problems).
