Hello,

I have an AVI container format with the following parameters (from GSpot):

Audio: MPEG-1 L3
Video: XviD 1.1.2

The file has the extension and avi is about 800MB in size.

How can I quickly and easily burn a DVD that is very conservative in a proprietary player can create and watch (not PC)?

Either your player can directly s.Daten Xvid DVD or you have it video-DVD fits into mpeg2 convert video and DVD burn.
