jem. has experience with a MacBook Pro in terms of performance with cutting, AE and CC? Can you permanently as a video workstation or missing him but then the necessary power? (see, for the MacPro).

I wrote a macbook pro 15'2, 2 GHz, 4gb ram and Final Cut Studio. runs with hdvschnitt wonderful.
I use a larger than ever tft monitor dvi to dvi and have FW800 port on an external hard disk (1gb taurus) depend.
with the macbook pro 17 'are you doing nothing wrong - and it would be too great to me - since I often have in use abroad.
if you do not need to be mobile - 24'imac about the best equipment in the same or synonymous MacPro sure worth a consideration.

and 2 monitor the 30'AppleCinemaDisplay but fits perfectly
