Hello,
I would like MpegII (yes, "2", not "4") in the Avi container processing.
Sometime I have a link to a codec, which could do this but bicht more.
Can someone help me?

This goes eg with FFMpeg (eg, under dowload http://ffdshow.faireal.net/mirror/ffmpeg/).
Procedure:
1) files in its own folder unpack.
2) Create a text file it with the extension. Asked directly in this folder (or change the system PATH variable accordingly).
3) Add the following line there:
ffmpeg-i "inputfile.mpg"-acodec copy-vcodec copy "outputfile.avi"
Replace this inputfile.mpg with the path / filename of the original mpeg2 and outputfile.avi with the path / name of the newly created Avidatei.
4) run the conversion by clicking on this batch file
Can I ask why you need something?

I have developed a software, the videos for me auto processed, so for my needs, otherwise I can take Magix synonymous or so.
Due to the structure of the software, it is only possible to use films, what with the Avi container compatible.
Now nöchte I MpegII use. This is actually not in my semi Avicontainer defined. By suitable Codek in the system but it should theoretically go. Bin mal gespannt :-)
It looks but on the very first glance, because the cost of development is not my application with Directx, but with ffdshow established.
How do you know FFMpeg? What have you already done so?

In google comes with Avi 19284743854893899 + MpegII so useless pages .....

If you have questions about next, there's still a newsgroup: gmane.comp.video.ffmpeg.user (Engl.).
The FFmpeg with such warped as Mpeg2 in Avicontainer are possible, I have sometime and somewhere in the network times and then found synonymous briefly tried (and it worked); really interested me personally at the moment but more with the use Avisynth, whose development is synonymous good progress makes ..
