Adobe After Effects (Is that a video editing program, or just a program with which you create and then import them into effect, such as Adobe Premiere can?)

weakly efficient.

Avid, I do not know.
After Effects is a compositing program that the many little special effects masters, who are seen occasionally in messages, trailers or feature films. Only for the DV editing totally inappropriate and too expensive.
Premiere Pro, so I work and am very satisfied with the possibilities. On most screens, and players can be dispensed's eh. The program is priced okay.
