As the title already makes clear, there is the problem altgbekannte that Avid Xpress with Windows Vista is not harmony. There are so synonymous here enough contributions. But ES problem is quite old and therefore it may well be that there are now solutions in this respect there.
I can run Avid, synonymous cut there, but when I play videos in the program to be carried out, although I have sound but no picture. It might indeed be a graphics driver problem to act, caused by the new Windows Vista graphics driver. Old Windows XP drivers to install, have failed.
Can you me, there are perhaps more help?

Yes clearly stop ---- not just install the XP drivers but directly ;-)

Avid even writes on the website the following: "At this time (5.8.1 Xpress, Media Composer 2.8.1) there is no Xpress Pro or Media Composer version available to run with Windows Vista. We strongly recommend to stay with Windows XP SP2 and the system requirements stated in the ReadMe. "
And since Xpress abandoned and no longer being developed, I would be skeptical even if there is still an official Vista support is expected.
