I am looking for a solution to the Achilles verse problem, the digital film world. A proper backup drive hard.
It must be compatible because of the complete workflow on Macs will be held in any case, Mac. The record is - as far as planned - always s.Einsatzort the gecapturten (urgs Denglisch neologism) summarize data instantly and therefore be fairly robust and portable. It should be a mirror plate thereby be secured again immediately if the one time but abraucht in which all data contents. 1TB (ie with Mirror 2TB) are probably sufficient. Why did with DV, HDV and AVCHD verballert never more than 500GB per day. And they should either via USB or Firewire 800 to be connected (there usually is captured with various McBookPros)
I am happy for all experience levels and Tips. I just naturally have asked himself was, however, like to obtain some experience. And since I had last December, one hard disks crash, I have become in the sector is especially cautious.

See that one person only assures the things Capturer, Log Wizard, Continuity, call it whatever you want. Copies may be synonymous the clips during shooting breaks.
What the "back-up" concerns, the following consideration: There are three data complexes that are independent of each other can be considered, and of which it is advantageous in my opinion, if they are independently considered.
> OSX with installed programs, including all updates. Imagine if your MBP is broken completely, or is stolen, with an external back-up (in peace at any External Disk, no preference with which connection) and Time Machine, you can create on a different machine within half an hour an exact copy .
> The Project. A project file eats a few MB. A small USB stick is likely to save each version of the program (to automatically back up or archive with "Save as"). Transfer to a new Mac: fractional seconds.
> The footage. In addition to backing up to external disk on MBP a copy, only needed in extreme cases, but with the first two steps in no time backup restored to the entire Project.
Who even MBP, external disk drive and does not trust, it must either hang himself or his views have their own internal hard drive defragment ;-)))

Thank you for your reply.
I am talking here only killed footage. Project files are out of question, because the really taking much space. The OSX Time Machine backup is on a plate, which never leaves the office. Thus there remains only the footage. And that is what I would like to keep independent of MBP. For the same goes for the set again to the next set while the plate moves to cut. And I would like to reluctantly rely on a single HD. (That's why the mirror)
