Better than HDV? AVCHD is drilled Of rudi - 13 Jul 2006 10:06:00
Panasonic and Sony announced today the licensing start of the High Definition (HD) camcorder format "AVCHD" and an expansion of the format specifications.
Now both companies have decided to increase the range of usable storage medium in addition to the previously announced 8cm DVD media to memory cards (SD Memory Card and Memory Stick) and hard disk drives. Moreover, the proposed data rate of increase was 18 to 24 Mbps and increased the maximum Resolutiondes format to 1920 x 1080 pixels (1080/60i, 1080/50i, 1080/24p). 720P modes with 24, 50 and 60 frames are also envisaged. As a potent compared to HDV, MPEG-4 AVC/H.264-Kompressionsmethode provide similar data rate is used could, with the AVCHD picture quality even on HDV are recoverable.
Adobe, Canon, CyberLink, InterVideo, Nero, Pioneer, Samsung, Sharp, Sonic Solutions and Ulead have already pledged their support for AVCHD.

Seems to me a step in the right direction to be. HDV with the restriction on a) Mpeg2, b) Tape and c) 25Mbs I find a bit odd.
Sadly lacking in 1080/50p AVCHD specification.
Since memory and hard disk modules become cheaper tape will probably have its day soon.
Mpeg4 allows a better quality than Mpeg2 at the same rate. I think the editing is no longer synonymous as a problem. It is synonymous only a matter of time until everyone mastered Wald-and-Wiesen-BD/HD/DVD-Abspieler synonymous mpeg4.
The best way would of course Kompremierung lossless, but then you probably get too large streams.

And how is it now next? When will the first cameras?

That will probably take another.

Is all well and good, but a higher Kopressionsrate means a 'loss' s.Informationen. In the simple play that is certainly no preference, but when the cut can then quickly take revenge.

Hard disks always have the mechanical disadvantage of being very sensitive, just from being hit. In a Stillimage, going where only a short memory access which is not harmful, but in video??

Memory if there were certainly the better choice, but even at 25 Mbs (DV or HDV), you would need a fast 15 GB card for 1 hour video. Will there be no doubt at some time, but I think that takes some time.

So wait and see whether erstmal AVSHD is really better.

Meanwhile SonyAVC Camera in the autumn will bring to the market. Now it is my question with what Liquiditations the Sony camera work and quality paramters will be like after converting the original Mpeg4 to Mpeg2 streams to later burn to DVD.

Antwort von Nightfly!:

Why Blue Ray and other personnel MPEG4?

As it goes synonymous from the good old DVD.

With a factor of Makes 4-5 zwichen MPEG2 and MPEG4 for

HDV (MPEG2) with 25Mbit / s

25Mbit / s
----------= 6.25 Mbps
4

Ie at 1.5 h Film 4218.75 MByte / s.
HDV and AVSHD should also fit with MPEG4 on a normal DVD.

For more quality MPEG4 and DoubleLayerDVD.

For cutting AVSHD (MPEG4 is presumably) much less use than HDV (MPEG2).

Sorry! I could not modify the last post!

But a data rate of 18-24 Mb / s for MPEG4 me seems a bit much, right?

At the same Resolutionwie HDV and MPEG2.
We have just estimating what can be MPEG2 as HDV on your HDTV / Projector for sharpness brings sharp as it should now be and how great the needs of his screen so that you still remember?

Yes is probably sensationally with the HDR SR 1, but what I do not understand, it was the speech of the H.264 and MPEG 4 compression Code'c, and not MPEG 2 The data rate is already ne Sensation 24 Mbit / sec, wiegut, the material has the look, H.264 is a very space-efficient code with good quality, although known, space-saving 24 MBit! Which correspond to the 24 Mbit hard compressed data 50 / 100 Mbps DV / similar quality material as we are with HVX 200 with DVCPRO HD?

Nothing with miserable 6-10 Mbit / sec of current MPEG 2 camcorder to HD / SD or DVD, if there Sonynicht success has been rented ...

The question is just how big the hard drive on the SR 1 - 70 MB should be at 24 Mbit / sec already have?
