Frage von Ipiranga:
Dezember 2008

Since there is no Blue Ray forum, I would like to visit here a few questions about Blue Ray standard.

Maybe someone knows what standards at Blue Ray Videos prevail? Go times of 1920x1080, 24fps progressive from. Liege ich richtig?

Is there a global standard, or there are different standards as before with PAL and NTSC?

What verwendetman Programs for authoring? - - DVD Studio Pro and Encore?

Thank you very much.

Antwort von MK:

DVD Studio Pro can unfortunately (still) not a Blu-ray.

The current of Adobe Encore and DVD Architect of posts at the moment for Sony Blu-ray authoring in my opinion, the best effective solutions dar.

In "real" production houses may be it Blu-print Sony Or of Sonic Scenarist of his. Here you have to be synonymous but have a larger 5-digit amount to invest.

The Blu-Ray (for BDMV) standard supports a range of resolutions and frame rates ranging from 1920x1080 and 1440x1080 on 1280x720 down to 720x480 or 720x576.

For primary current is in the Standard: 1920x1080 or 1440x1080 are both progressive as synonymous Skip modes. 1280x720 is always progressive. The legacy modes 720x576 and 720x480, there is only interlaced. It will be as synonymous NTSC PAL frame rates. Supported codecs are MPEG-2, MPEG-4 AVC and SMPTE VC-1.

However, there may be players who Resolutions and frame rates outside the accepted standards.

Antwort von WideScreen:

As for the DVD is in the Blu-ray disc, a regional code implemented is related to, for example, that a US-bought Blu-ray Disc players in Europe can be used. In practice, however, many companies abandon partially or fully on an implementation of the regional codes. This means that at the moment about 70% of the available movies on Blu-ray disc have no regional limitation.
