I have a sony vx 1000E. not work suddenly the playback, rewind, and synonymous vorspültasten defective. wen you open the cassette deck, you see that a connection is torn down. This is probably the abyss. The guarantee is unfortunately already expired years ago. And of course you can grope them without the filmed not, transfer it to pc ... So, if otherwise, the recording goes, I would give expensive SD camcorder with Firewire to buy I think, and use this to capture.
That will certainly be cheaper to repair than to leave.

The quality does not deteriorate, there are digital data on the tape.
Alternatively, you can still control those devices synonymous via Firewire and capture the appropriate programs. In AVID no problem, Sony Vegas is very good and the synonymous synonymous parts such as Magix should dominate.
