the purchase of the "optimal" camcorder.

Application
Filming, documentation of Theatre and Dance productions, concerts to material for festival submissions (SETCARD)
of young artists to create / Groups

Filming will be centered, slightly increases of the Tribühne
in a long shot with extenem MIC

Known problems / challenges / requirements:
* Low light, often black background and Boden
* Bright (white) faces against a black background,
* Fast movements in low light,
* Tungsten,
* Main Stage depth (up to 14m) actors stand in front, rear, hi & vo
and width (12m)
sometimes at a short distance from the stage front edge (7m):
* SOUND: sometimes very loudly then softly Language to Music

* Since no state special free theater scene
little budget for hardware: the 1,500 - may be less synonymous


What we think like this:
MUST:
Good wide angle,
LowLight good behavior, low noise
Good dynamic performance (Knee?, Black Stretch?, ....)
Min 120 minutes recording time no 4GB limit on recording length,
16:9 HD

External MIC
View Finder?

Hi Andrew,
a good recommendation is always the top models of Panasonic (current SD 909). since everything is there what you need.
The sony device in the class are guaranteed to 1500 ¬ for stage lighting perfect (even in automatic mode), but to my knowledge have no manual level control. Which is essential for stage use.
My personal recommendation is but Canon HF G10. If you still can put on it a few hundred of the 1500 ¬ mark, you get the Canon of XA10 with XLR connectors (ideal for long time scales).
From the basic data do not differ from both.

Yesterday I filmed a play. With my Nikon D7000, 2 Aldi cheap camcorders and an old miniDV camera.

Nikon D7000: Super low light, very sharp images, of wide-angle to tele, take only 20 minutes s.stück.
Aldi Cheap Camocorder: Very bad
miniDV Camera: too low resolution.

Conclusion:
I could shoot with the DSLR but with super-fast movements need to be a DSRL of Canon or Panasonic because 60fps.
And you can shoot only 20 min s.Stück. More one should rather not synonymous. If you do not break, then the sensor is broken quickly.

As for responding to the autofocus of the Nikon? In the film stage is often the setting and the section will be changed and refocused deshal constantly. 50/60p one does not need me for theater. 50i extends completely - synonymous with dance performances I've coped with it. I guess that Nikon has just 30p, which is too little movement and jerky, if the exposure is made shorter than 1/30sec.

We work with image documentation with a CANON 7D (may MOV HD).
Plays must not cut and incorporated as per requirement s.Stück be 120 min. Anything less is a KO criterion
If you look at the data from the Canon look, we know that this is not suitable for non-stop filming (overheat sensor, AF tracking, XLR)
For short sequences, Low Light Lens with light heavy - really good - top quality - but we are not so unfortunately.
NOTE: Canon produced with MOV container.
Video codec: H.264
