exactly this question comes often.
Tenor of the forum members (or the) hands off the hard disks camcorder.
MiniDV is the first choice.
Reasons: stronger compression, therefore tw. worse picture, complications during video editing.
If you want to know more about this, rummaging a little bit in the forum or the search effort.

There are some every day exactly the same questions and these are like 150 times a day. So synonymous not a user has the time to enrich his knowledge with all contributions, or his experiences. Can you summarize the testimony as follows:
Benefits for camcorders, hard disks:
- Fast dubbing on the PC
- No removable media
- Less self-noise
Disadvantages for hard drive camcorders:
- Data are komrimiert, consequently, it has worse picture and the image editing no longer works so well because the data were wegkomprimiert
- The devices are more expensive compared to equivalent MiniDV camcorders
Is that correct?
Are there more issues to note?

We will increase our probably a MiniDV camcorder. As far as I understand they are cheaper, but better. Apart of the copy speed to the PC and the quieter operating noise.

Where is true (except perhaps that compresses synonymous with MiniDV camcorders, but hold different and not so much ;-).

However, you need to advance yourself to answer the following question:
What do you do with the recorded video material?
Want to reprocess it, cut, perhaps accompanied with titles and effects? => MiniDV
Want to just burn it to DVD or watch only raw on camera s.TV? Then, surely enough synonymous a DVD or HDD camcorder.
