Hi Daniel

Since I only professionally with the big cameras to do, I can not spezieöö to say the HV30, but I can say something generally valid, the synonymous with the "big" Canon's true: It comes on the subject.
Try s.besten with the camera around and look at the differences between the various modes. Some provide you with more drawing in the depths, others in height, etc.
We use the XLH1, if low budget goes to and accept the setting for each new setting before. Sure you can to the XL-H1 significantly longer set, but that does not s.der approach.
Do it like your photos, very beautiful. Do you take the time and settings specifically for the recording.

Greetings!
Jürgen

Hi Daniel ...

Actually you have when choosing your camera only to choose the lesser evil.
In the absence of a true progressive mode, CANON from the two fields a "pseudo" progressive Picture here (SF25).
This includes not only the disadvantages of interlaced but the synonymous of Progressive, is the worst of all solutions.
Hence the recommendation, if, then (i) shall be recorded and referred to 720p with a good filter to convert. The emphasis here is on: GOOD, because interpolations require a high quality filter.
If you do anyway in 720p H.264 off like, I should be a MPEG4 recording procedure with a true progressive scan elected.
Not only because H.264 is the better image quality at data rates comparable returns, but because virtually synonymous no conversion losses occur. Quite aside from the chips that synonymous in 720p without interpolation full record.
So here you have a newer camera model must be taken to (technically) the best quality.

The HV20 (or HV30) is in contrast to the progressive A1/G1/H1 real material, which in 50 fields in order HDV2-Kompabiltät (which is not always gewärhleistet, but mostly:)) for storing cutting.
There are no interlace artifacts.

The HF10 is the material thanks to the non-restrictive (either an advantage or disadvantage, any person may decide for itself;)) in 1920x1080-25p (!!!) AVCHD format. The technology to record is that of the HV20 (HV30) are very similar.

To sum up ...

HV20, HV30:
Progressive chosen CMOS (true 1920x1080 pixels)
Storage in DV (720x576, 50i Bottom Field First), HDV2 (1440x1080 50i Top Field First) or pseudo HDV2 (1440x1080 25PsF (25pf mode) Top Field First).

the latter can be lossless in most editors on a 1440x1080/25p-Timeline process.

Hello Wolfgang and Dennis,

okay, I've guessed it - the whole is with the Purchase and then simply not finished filming and looks again for a real science.

Yes ... it would have been synonymous may not be easier ...

;-)

Even though I am currently of your help is not much we can understand never too old to still employ.

But ultimately wants but only the HD source material of the Canon HV30 after cutting s.PC in the best possible quality at a Resolutionvon 1280 x 720 pixels on a PC to play again.

What should I do like this (recording modes, which codec, etc. pp.) Or in a matter which should I learn?

Thanks and regards,

Daniel

Hi Dennis ..

There are but a few of your execution of a question mark ..

For example, a chip, the 2:07 Mpix Resolutionhat not progressive read out.
Calculation times of 4:3 (chip) to 16:9, then get as the horizontal leg Resolutionraus and the times that Farbmaske .... You then land at best, of 1100 pixels horizontally, so not even in 1440!

In addition, there is no progressive HDV2 definition. HDV2 is an interlaced method. Why should a Camera is a 1080p picture in interlaced store (or in F-mode) to make it such a pseudo-progressive interlaced picture format in an insert? And why will not it called 1080p?
If the method would be to 1080p at 25 Mbps to conjure loss would be a great thing ... You then have to only 50 such 1920x 1080er fields per second ... However, it is not in 25 Mbps ....
So I would because less catalog descriptions and prefer the investigations to follow.

@ Daniel

I'm sorry that this has become so technical, but the catalog information which is cited as Dennis has always promise the "blue sky" and unfortunately far too few questions and even fewer checks.

If you already have the camera, make it easy to test and try out, bringing you the best results .... to the finished product, so with all the conversions.
I tend here (in doubt of the real P-recording) for the procedure I followed with Down.Konvertment according to 720p.

If you take the camera still did not buy you one that does 720p in H.264 ... will save you a lot of work and have a better quality.

Hello Wolfgang,

then I probably unfortunately a lot of work ahead of me :-(

Well, it's stupid when you smarter afterwards, but I thought that I with the HV30 (Reviews / Feedback) nothing would go wrong.

The HV20 creates in spite of the Bayer mask so much s.Resolution (Luma course). The other will be her first time to make. Even the RED One creates despite 4k just to the 1200 lines - what a bitter loss!

As always synonymous.

The storage of images in progressive Fields is nothing new.
Called Progressive Segmented Frames (25PsF or 25pf in HV20).

The HV20 makes despite nunmal HDV2 interlaced format to use, by doing exactly that - Progressive Fields images in memory.

The A1, however, makes it in the 25f mode basically ... quite similar. Only the A1 due to its interlaced CCDs selected first deinterlace the material to deinterlaceten images in turn distribute Fields.

The EX1 is both correct.
Progressiv selected sensors (like the HV20) and more a non-restricted HDV format with real frames.

Modern editing software, it is no preference whether the images in progressive Fields decomposed or directly as frames arrive.

@ Dennis

The Inter-Line (interlaced) Ausleseart of the chip may not be confused with the formats, since it is merely a memory arrangement in relation to the photo sensor in the series of (vertical) photo sensors in the memory to be unloaded.
So it is a pure type of the sensor chips and does not lead necessarily to interlaced formats, but to a further reduction of the active pixels to the full-frame sensor, which is again a negative impact on the Picture. But it has also other advantages over FT.
The interlaced image is not on the spatial distribution of the chips, but on the temporal discharge of the contents.

PSF is clear, and really old hat even in the SD time, but it is always a progressive image in the camera requires. Some Manufacturer, the P just can not put even just a half twice (Linedoubling) a ..... The very special nature of the PSF.
But the cameras have now become, as far as I know, the synonymous Temporal blessed. But it would be zuzutrauen some manufacturers still.

Mir is the media and the associated problem aware. And therefore my concept synonymous sees only the minimal use of the video options ...

The sequences are simply a transition to the movement and thus create different areas blend into one another.

Understand. However, you need to not necessarily an additional video camera. Eg 1 Picture per second can be via a timer and then taking pictures as a video clip import (most editing programs can be numbered as a single video capture). The whole problem interlace outset of falls away.
Some Special effects (such as video clips from many individual images illuminated at night) you can even just with a (fast) camera make.

I "turn" since 2-3 years Timelapse movies with a DSLR and Intervalometer and change the frames with Quicktime Pro in 720p movies.

The whole thing costs a lot of "material" because the first lock of my Canon 5D was already after about 75,000 trips over there and had to be replaced. Also accumulates in Skyeshoots often wear the shutter on the CMOS and it müllt is yes still synonymous with the image of tanks these image sequences unnecessarily full.

I want this technology for only 4-5 hours Nightskyshoots (30 sec. Exposure time per frame) and otherwise use my material with the use of HDV Cam unharmed.
