yes, I know. No, it is not. ;-)
Japan has a different television standard (NTSC) and Germany (PAL). These television standards differ in their resolution, color coding, frame rate, ... So in all important respects. Moreover, in Europe you have no warranty on the device and it must also pay tax on imports.
