Infoseite // Capture S-VHS: comb-effect of resolution change?

Frage von exploitbashor:

Hello,

I'm in the process, Loads of old S-VHS tapes to digitize and store the long term.
To this end, I use VirtualDub capture without any special codec, so loosless, because I want to convert the files afterwards SOWISO to mpeg2.

Now I have the following problem:

When I pixeling with 320x240 capture, then I have a perfectly normal digitized video.
But if I want to capture in higher quality, and select 720x576, I have in the video file very extreme interlaced lines, the known comb-effect.

What should I do now? I would like to capture in best quality possible, but the comb-effect makes the whole video is not intuited easy. Can I wegbekommen the effect somehow, or do I necessarily lesser Resolutioncapturen?

Thank you once before in advance!

Watch the video at times on a television!

Interlaced video that has really always comb effect. It is purely a matter of adjustment s.PC (or the player or editing software), whether these stepped-stairs effect can be seen, or if not.

In any case, the capturing of hörehren Resolutiondie better choice.

Burn a DVD and just times you look at the s.Fernsher (!).

I wanted the films and digitize all very happy to just back up my hard drive and watch them s.pc, on that account it would be class if the comb effect on the pc-screen were not so strong.

And as I said, occurs only at higher resolutions at lower comb is not even visible effect

You should be full resolution and deinterlace then simply play along with the player. Most players can now with different methods of good quality. Always better than satisfied with nem quarter. After all, it is expected that the cartridges are disposed of afterwards, right?
