Servus,
I use Vegas 7.0 and would like recordings capture.
For shooting, I use the SonyZ1e.
The recordings were made in HDV mode rotated.
So I connect camera and PC via Firewire.
Then I run Vegas and select "video capture" from the File menu.
In the menu "Video recording" I choose "HDV or DSI from.
I come into the menu / window "recording".
But Vegas shows me at: DEVICE NOT AVAILABLE.
The camera is switched to the playback mode and the tape is inserted.
 Where's the problem?

Hihi, I still turn a fun time option in the round:
Check your Firewire cable. Cheap Ebay of the piece more than enough to strangle the seller. And because they are often very thin, they tend to go broke: D
From my own experience I can only say: Good Firewire cable, eg of HAMA. Precisely because the Z1 makes problems if the cable is crap.
Aso, one more thing: Maybe the Firewire jack s.der Camera broken ... synonymous already had.
But it is very easy to check: Camera in DV mode and connect. If Windows recognizes it (Dü düm!) Then the socket is ok.
