No, there is no alternative. Cheaper it's all with an ExpressCard slot to PCIe adapter (or http://www.guenstiger.de/gt/main.asp?produkt=669013 http://www.guenstiger.de/gt/main.asp?produkt = 609464). This only works in PCs with PCIe slots and not in the notebook anyway an ExpressCard slot (have). Somewhat uncomfortable it is that we change the SxS cards must crawl behind the PC.

When I say that there is no alternative, then this is so. Of the links you referenced only the USB adapter cables of the ExpressCard slot with a USB cable. SxS cards have on the other hand, the PCIe interface of ExpressCard slots are connected.
