Hi,
I've not have a clue in terms of video and have here a large 86 MB MPG 4:30 min long movie and wants to convert the school to our home page so it has less MBs but still is not shabby. Has anyone of you a good tip which (Streamin?) Format is suited and with which program do I convert the file then?

The question is whether the video should be steamingfähig or if you just want to offer a downloadable version. Streaming has the advantage that not only all the data (time) must be downloaded and saved, but the video starts immediately after the buffers of some films seconds.
The optimal data rate for the compressed video depends on the speed of the respective modems. Users with analog do not belong to the target group, for 56 kbps are absolutely inadequate for the transmission of current video images. Even with its ISDN data rates ranging from not to realize a buffer time to discussion and video quality.
The target group of streaming-video files are so DSL users with a maximum data transmission speed of 768 kbps. Depending on network load, this data rate can fluctuate () down or turn out a total lower.
