Frage von marsteini:

Hello,

I would like to be a Mac Mini up, so I wolter times when you ask whether this is worthwhile. I almost fear that such a question ever since, but the Boardsuchmaschiene here is a bit incompetent or stupid I am to them to operate. Reisßt So I do not like the head off:)

Time in general:
I currently work with a PC (3GHz P4, 1GB 533 RAM, 160GB SATA and XPpro SP2) and Ulead VS9. Good, I'm with this calculator actually been quite happy, but now I would like a new growth. Since my Windows lately SOWISO too many problems and I have really likes Linux, but unfortunately no suitable video editing solution, I am looking for a Mac decided (If yes synonymous a Unix system). For reasons I can financially to me only the smallest of bars, a Mac Mini for 599 ¬. Times I would like to know if this renders faster or slower than my current. Furthermore, it would be interested in me, how powerful iMovie is in Comparison to VS9, beherscht is synonymous ChromaKey or similar? Or is it just as useless as the built-in Windows Movie Maker? What do you, pays the MiniMAC priced in comparison to the same Windows PC models? Sagt times your opinion or experience, depending on the. Or give me a few links, if the subject ever been dealt.

Thanks in advance,

Ganz schön gestottert. Should read:
The would disturb me that you do not even have a DVD of the film can burn, because the smallest MacMini just a normal DVD-ROM drive with CD-R/RW-Brenner-Möglichkeit holds. It is the combo drive, while the larger MacMini with the SuperDrive works, it can burn DVDs and in similar form today, each new 299-euro PC to find it.
In other words: What's the use iLive nice software package, with this if you do not even cucumber iDVD can use.

I would just give me a normal IDE burner and then purchased via IDE-> USB adapter connected. Old hatdware I have enough and it should go doh, huh?

Antwort von Voltz:

Of course, you can upgrade.

For Video Editing RAM and HDD are expected when MacMini little bit too short. Later upgrade is more expensive.

To your second question on iMovie
I would even argue that iMovie can do even more than the Windows Movie Maker. Keyframe editing but is not one of them.
The focus of the Apple software is intuitive, simple handling and the exchange with the other iLife Programs (Images, DVD, etc.).

Ahja ...
Since I still synonymous with a question which for other vllt. synonymous interesting
could be:

I am of my current system with 2 monitors spoiled (I can
almost impossible to imagine one to work with, not only in DV editing).
Mac Mini is only possible with a monitor, right?
Is it possible to upgrade hardware on a graphics card
with 2 outputs?

Merci,

M.

Antwort von Voltz:

I have not tried. Therefore I can not promise you that iMovie supports it. But what is the fundamental capability, a second monitor s.Mac adapter, there is almost nothing simpler. You need him and can only anstöpseln then in System Preferences to configure to your heart's content as you would like.

Go have a look at an Apple Store and let you the spot demonstrations.

Antwort von Maik:

Yes ... I thought I already

but the anstöpseln,
this is missing, it is only because the Mac Mini only has a DVI output :-)

Antwort von Voltz:

That's true of course, synonymous again.
You have to be raised, the MacMini is not that just the favorite child of Apple, but only on popular demand of Apple users than Einsteiger-/Umsteigergerät cheap on the market. The sparrows whistle it of the rooftops that the MacMini soon cease to be synonymous because he AppleTV competition and makes for little more money can do more.

Antwort von Sten:

the mac mini may be more, in various forums has shown what with all the Apple TV is feasible, one is willing to tinker with;)

Antwort von PowerMac:

The Mac mini is sufficient. However, Motion does not run what I consider a condition for the DV Editing think. Without Titling and Compositing no cut. And I have of Final Cut Studio expect. From iMovie I believe nothing.

Antwort von Voltz:

iMovie is just nothing like iWeb and not half full.
But as a gateway drug, you can let's go through. In both cases, you do not much know or learn in order to produce a usable result. If that's enough, it might even stay. Who here in the forum Slashcam lost, I am among the more ambitions. You should get Final Cut or Premiere Pro CS3 closer look.

Antwort von Sten:

Thank you first for your answers, they have helped me very much.

But somehow gibts für nen no Mac around ¬ 100 video editing program. Adobe offers so synonymous the simplified version of the premiere cs 3, premiere elements 4,, but only for Windows. Wenns bigger brother, but the Mac can, wiso then put it on Apple's not around? An editing program for 1000 ¬ I can not afford, the only thing that would offer would be of aplle the FinalCutExpress for 299 ¬. But I think there is not an interim solution such as Windows, there are pressing yes synonymous several ÜPrograms to 100 ¬ on the Markt.Existieren really no "intermediate solution"?

Antwort von Voltz:

1000 Euro you need not necessarily pay.
You can get a cheap synonymous ancient version of Premiere erstehen (ebay) and then cheap upgrade.
The Upgradesystemaik of Adobe who wants to understand, but you have no more than nearly 350 euros.

Antwort von Steppenwolf22:

And in between there are no program? So I believe it to 100 ¬ or so, Adobe offers so much for Windows synonymous Premiere Elements, but not for Macs. Is there really nothing else?

Space

Antwort von PowerMac:

I know of at least no software in between. FCE s.knapp 300 euro - so it begins. Down there is just iMovie.

Antwort von ben z.:

Ginge the Update_mechanismus synonymous with FCE? I think that Ebay no previous versions of Adobe. But an old FCE runs but only on a G-Mac, I can still upgrade with, so how does the upgrade from? Must be because the previous version installed, because this is so no longer.

For Adobe upgrades you need only the serial number. You have not even the CD.
