Infoseite // Deinterlace with Quicktime 7 Pro for Windows?

Frage von micrei:

Hello,

I want to convert an AVI file on my PC into a Quicktime clip and to use Quicktime 7 Pro on WinXP. Unfortunately, no Deinterlacefunktion QT seems to have. Does anybody know how to create If a MOV file with deinterlace?

Thank you very much.

The pragmatic solution: make the deinterlace before you send the file in QT for example with VirtualDub.

Hello Stefan,

Thanks for your reply. I have to but one more question: Do I have it with Virtualdub to compress the video with a codec, so I can set the deinterlace filter? If I select direct stream copy, then selecting a filter is not possible, and if I need to compress the video, then the quality suffers.

Or you can create one synonymous with VD deinterlaced video without quality loss?

Radio Yerevan: Generally not, because you already deinterlace by up to 50% throwing away image information ;-)

Direct Stream Copy is how you spelled correctly, do not. You have to make a full processing. If you want to create with QuickTime Pro, the MOV / need, then you have to go with VD, unfortunately, a temporary file. A frameserving of VD to QT was not known to me (but not great synonymous sought after).

The codec for the intermediate ... naja a DV or MJPEG codec with 19-20, I see no image quality loss. The choice of synonymous Zwischencodecs is tricky - it has to be supported out of QT synonymous.

Other programs to MOV encoder may be able to VD from FrameMaker Server operated (Procoder, Cleaner, After Effects). But can even a synonymous Deinterlace make ;-)

Good luck
