Hello.
Did the Canon XH-A1, Final Cut Express 4 and a Firewire cable 4/6-polig associated with an iMac. I have no problems taking pictures, but the video but not in the video preview pane nor do I get a status message "VTR OK" nor can I change the camera from the Mac interface. Because apparently iMovie an "omnivore" is ichs've tried there. The control and display is carried out without problems.
My Settings in the "Simple Setup" in FCE: Format HD, 25 fps rate, setting the HDV-Apple Intermediate Codec 1080i50. Then I go to Storage -> recording, which only a dialog box "HDV Studio" appears where I can enter the filename.
What could be wrong? Do I still at the Camera what settings? Lieben Dank für eure Tips!

I do not FCE. Usually called the "Easy Setup" but "HDV 1080i." Wilt thou then "p", you need to duplicate the default, and the Halbbildominanz off as "HDV 1080p store. Do not know if this works, but no device control as Intermediate to capture, you müllt yes otherwise the hard drive too. As I said, I did not FCE., But I am surprised that there was a problem with the device control there. Accepted FCE because the clips that captures you with iMovie?
If you have the possibility of a television via composite or component adapter, you would capture at least see what you aufnimmst. Even when functioning Studio preview window is a good approach, one sees the same images in a reasonable size, you can select a sifting-through-save.

Under the HD format, I have only 3 settings of codes Choice: HDV-Apple Intermediate 1080i50 Codex, I60, p30. Think it should already be correct. PAL is not in question, right? Have since tried, since the opening of the capture window I want, however, claims FCE.
The clips are easily available, synonymous, I see on the Mac, which I record. Only I can in that window do nothing at all ... hmmm ...

Another addition: In the meantime, I rausgefunden that HD recordings apparently not the window "recording" is rising, but a special dialog box. Thus, this seems normal.
And: If I were in the XH-A1 in the Signal Setup menu the item "HD Down conv" choose, I can on the Easy Setup "DV-NTSC FireWire Basic" control problems.
Hence the question: In record HDV or DV runterkonvertieren? But then I would s.Ende but no so good camera? Thanks for your enlightenment!

In no case in the Camera downkonvertieren! Dear preview in iMovie with capture and edit in FCE. Sometime perhaps time to Final Cut Pro, go.
