However, this is synonymous been digitally equipped and I would be happy with my PC. If it really is a digital camera, then forget the RCA method very quickly and ask your friend if the device has a DV output and whether he has the appropriate cable you can mitgeben.
On the PC you need a Firewire jack as input. If not available, it can be easy and cheap to retrofit.
For everything else (software, etc.) we should then know exactly what you s.PC plan.

There are synonymous but the newer Digital 8-procedure, which uses the same cassette, but records digitally. Perhaps you think that?
In this second case, and only in this (!), Applies to what I already wrote above.
